YOUNGEST DRIVER EVER TO WIN USST SUPER TRUCK NATIONALS AT JRP SPEEDWAY!

JRP Speedway hosted its 3rd annual Super Truck Nationals this Saturday evening featuring a 100 lap Main Event. Young Brady Demeree in only his 6th appearance in a super truck grabbed the lead on the first lap and led from start to finish over a field of veteran drivers. We had a mandatory caution at the 50 lap mark to refuel and change tires, when the trucks returned to the ¼ mile asphalt, the 4 time winner, Brad Sams, Chris Johnson, and Russ Dugger was missing from the field. The race continued with 14 year old Brady still in the lead. By the 56 th lap Brady started lapping the field. By lap 57 there were only 8 trucks still on the lead lap. #34 Tony Springwater was hot on the youngsters bumper, with the two leaders running side by side for the remainder of the race. The third position was taken by the #19 truck of Scott Deimel, starting from the 8th position, worked his way through the field. Local racer Larry “Cowboy” Mcoy, after several mishaps and his hot rod truck crunched managed to take the fourth spot. #99 Nate Anderson rounded out the top five. The top five were followed by Garrett Murrell, Arkansas driver, Joe Forman, Steve Cooper, Tim Anderson, Eric Caudell, Chris Johnson, Brad Sams, Russ Dugger and newcomer Tim Stowe. I would like to give special thanks to Joe Formans wife for helping out my scorers with this 100 lap event.

JRP also hosted the 1st annual Can Am Silver Cup race for both of the can am divisions. In the Rookie division, it was 11 year old Dylan Harden of Glenpool, and grandson of modified champion Jim Estes who led from start to finish to grab the coveted silver cup trophy. Multi winner this season #2 Austin Fullerton, took the second spot, and Braden Huff took the third place trophy. James Wolff followed in fourth, Caleb Huff fifth and Tanner Phillips in 6th.

In the Pro division, it was a very close race with champion Kurtis Justice and last seasons Champion Josh Fletcher coming across the finish line with Josh taking the win by mere inches. Mini Cup champion Taylor Odell took the third spot and Colby Anderson followed in fourth.

National Cash Lenders sponsored the 30 lap Legends race, featuring drivers from several adjoining states. Texas driver Buddy Goudy took over the lead on the 18th lap to take the top honor and trophy. Missouri driver, #20 Park Jones starting from the 8th position worked his way through the pack and through the wrecks to take the second spot. The third place trophy went to Texas driver and Super Truck dominator, #55 Brad Sams. Fourth place went to the 17m of local favorite dwarf driver, Mike Evans in his first appearance in a legend car. Youngster, Brady Demeree, after spinning out while running second with only three laps to go, rallied back to take the fifth position. Regular driver Jason Rayle took a hard hit when his tire went over the tire of lady driver Rhonda Casey, putting him on his roof and sliding all the way to the first turn. Jason walked away unhurt.

Creek County FWD bomber driver and champion, Rick McKinney took over the lead on the 17 lap after getting into an altercation with favorite Lea Welch, sending Welch to the rear of the field, McKinney went on the take the checkered flag. 3 time winner Slim Burklin took the second spot. Another creek driver Michael Stucks took the third position.The #03 to Toby Cooper starting at the rear of the field worked his way to take the fourth spot. Lea Welch rallied back to finish out the top five.

JRP's mighty mini stocks found champion James Savage, once again in the winners circle leading from start to finish over #87 Matt Hopkins, Anthony Peterson, Creek Driver Orran Boyce, and Shawn Hopkins rounded out the top five. Another one of Creeks favorite drivers Carl Lewis was unable to start the feature. Jimmy Masterson was black flagged after he retaliated on another driver.

In the Pro mini division, Champion Gregg Overstreet took the checkered flag over newcomer to the division, Jessica Ford, and veteran driver Grumpy Tyre.

Kevin Brewer, in his #10 hot rod Dwarf car, once again visited victory circle, after taking the lead from pole sitter Mike Evans on the 7th lap of the 20 lap event. Alex Bachtell took the second spot on the last lap passing the #40 and the #01, leaving Rick Quinn to settle for third. Evans fell to the fourth spot, and newcomer Ric Weisner rounded out the top five.

Losing some of the modifieds to heat mishaps, we had a 10 lap dash for cash between 3 time champion Jim Estes and the sleek #8 of Billy Perkins. Perkins jumped out with the lead and held off Estes to take his first win of the season!

Tyler Roe of Sapulpa took the Mini cup shortened event when the Odells in the #92 and #92x, both crashed out.

In the final event of the night, The ground pounding Factory stocks took the asphalt and put on a great show! #34 Ted Roberts making his first appearance in his great looking stocker, developed problems on the first lap, left the track. Creek County Driver Dann Gray jumped into the lead on the restart, and held the lead until lap eighteen, when he was overtaken by former champion Johnny DeRamus and the #13 Chris Ford. This duo fought each other hard, with Johnny D. taking the win for the second week in a row! Ford had to settle for second, and Gray fell to third. David Young also from creek, in his good looking #7 took the fourth position. #2 Jimmy Kirby rounded out the top five. They were followed by Jim Carpenter, AJ Davidson, Kevin Hill, and Dewayne Allen.
